The only person to contact me supplier wise was for Oak flooring and I have been in contact and may well use.

I try very hard to update regularly but it is very difficult and time rockets by

Good luck with the build

Hi New Build

I have planning permission to knock down the existing chalet bungalow making way for a house. Traditional brick/block build.

We will need pile foundation.

Looking to start getting quotes now.

I am also thinking of putting a blog.

Does it attract builders and suppliers?

Will be reading your blog regular from now on so please do update as often as possible.

Hi

Thanks for the comments, I thought when I started this blog 3 years ago we were only a short hop from getting planning.

The fact it took a further 2 years made regular posts impossible and I wished I had started it when planning was granted.

We have a couple of hundred visitors a day now and as I post more regularly it is growing, I think it is a great way of recording the progress.

I wish you well with your search you might want to look at www.plot-search.co.uk if you are looking for a site, it is a great feeling when you do get started!

Enjoying reading about your self build, and can't actually believe how long you have been posting, although your (building) site looks like a really great plot.

Like you, we have decided that any decent plot of land is not going to be on the open market, so have started posting letters into houses with big gardens. Fingers crossed.

I have also thought about doing a blog of the whole process, and wondered if you have found this worthwhile, and how many visitors you are receiving?
