I have Read your diary with interest. I have just started my own self build in my side garden, however it is not nearly as big as yours, just a 3 bed detached approx 100sqm. ar'nt planning officers great, it took me over 12 months, 1 withdrawn, 1 refused and 1 objected to by a local busybody (oops I mean councilor) any way finally started the ground works in Jan and already blew the contingency budget after the building officer made us go 8 ft with part of the foundations as there was an old drain there. Are you going through NHBC ? I was advised not to as they are to stringent and cause delay even if building control pass it. so i have gone through build zone.
