Bricklayers back on site
I have got the webcam working but I am having an issue with it not keeping the zoom settings, probably something I am missing but I am a bit busy at the moment so I will have to come back to it.
Got the bricklayers back today to finish the block work up to damp, we should have had the bricks delivered yesterday but Hoskins had “lost” the fax order. I am supposed to be getting them today so that the bricklayers can come back and finish over the weekend.
I have had to local crane hire firms visit the site today to do a site survey and quote for Welsh Oak they have both been told they will be needed the week beginning the 20th so it looks like the Oak Frame will be going up then.
New build latest
I have ordered the first lorry load of bricks and I am hoping they will be delivered on Wednesday, I say hoping as I have provisionally got the bricklayers coming back to me on Friday and Saturday to finish up to the DPC.
All being well I will then be able to get the scaffolders in next week as the scaffold will need to be complete for the Oak Frame to be delivered on Monday the 20th! I cant wait, I am hopeful the Self Build Webcam will be up and running by then as I am sure that the actual frame build will be the most interesting part of the whole build.
I have also been in contact withVale regarding the bronze casements and the joiners about the frames as the prices are still very high and I am doing my best to get them down a bit.
The heating is also proving to be more expensive than I hoped to pay, I thought I had decided on a ground source heat pump but the cost seems excessive and I just can not see how the figures pay back figures can be correct.
Once Welsh Oak are here I will spend a bit more time on resolving the heating and the windows.
Received our bricks approval
Yesterday we finally received the brick, roof tile and driveway materials approval from the council so first thing on Monday morning I will get in contact with my Tudor Roof Tile rep and finalise the tiles.
Although I have been dealing with the Hogkins Bricks rep regarding quantities and specials brick they will only take orders from a nominated builders merchant which in my case is Orpins, so I will go in and see them on Monday and place the order. Hopefully I should receive a full load of 11800 bricks by the end of the week so that I can get the remainder of work up to the DPC in readiness of the Oak frame delivery.
Feels like we might be back on track – famous last words!
Self build webcam going live
I have decided to put a self build webcam live on the blog.
I have done a little research and have ordered a Mobotix M22M-IT-D22 In/Outdoor IP camera from www.networkwebcams I have also been looking at getting someone to embed the stream in to the self build webcam page.
So the webcam should be inplace and working early next week then there will be no hiding from you all !
