Block work upto slab

blockwork up to slabe

blockwork up to slab

We are upto slab level with the block work,  the ground was not as level as I had first thought which will give us about 6 course’s of face work on one corner which is not to much of a drama. Once the slab has been laid we will have another coarse of block work all the way round and between 3 and 6 courses of face work around  the outside and we will be up to damp.

As the planning department still have not approved the bricks and tile choice I have not been able to order them in so it is just as well Welsh Oak Frame are behind a couple of weeks, delivery of the oak frame is now looking like the second week of April.

If that is going to be the only delay I will be happy, but I am sure it wont be.

Once the building work starts and you have bricks in your foundation the building work seems to move faster and you can see the progress, it is unfortunate that you are waiting for approval about your bricks. It does make you think what the planning departments are doing at the minute, it is hardly like they are being inundated with large development requirements.
