I can't believe how time has gone by so quickly!

I can't believe how time has gone by so quickly!

Well over a year since my last post....mad.

What is worst, we still do not have full planning permission, I have the overall size agreed in principle and I have the position agreed.

But because the majority of our extra floor area is coming from exchanging single story outbuildings, the council want's like for like meaning a massive downstairs and a tiny upstairs which would not then allow us our design.

I have taken yet more advise but we seem to be going round in circles, I will endevour to post at least a little more frequently!

It's funny how difficult it is to obtain approval for what seems to be a reasonable design request. Six months ago I purchased several raw acres of land from www.buysafecostarica.com . The property is located in an up and coming gated community which includes a building committee that has dragged their feet on approving our designs. I wanted to have the project completed by early next year but it seems as though this is just a dream. Buysafe was well aware of our design intentions however they never stated that they could be an issue. Anyways try to stay positive. Feel comfort in knowing that you’re not the only one who’s dream house only exists on a piece of paper.

Hi

How's the build going?

If you need solid oak flooring for your house, do check out our website.

We've got all grades of French oak flooring at the keenest prices on the net.

Good luck

I feel for you Dave- this county's planning system is archaic.

Having worked for many years in house building, I experienced first hand the 'mess around' that you get from planners.

What annoys and frustrates me is the Government commission reports (like the Barker report) to tell them how there is a shortage of new build, and how SLOW and unreasonable the current planning process is (like joe public does not know that already - so how come the Government have to spend money to find it out!). Then the Government leave it there.

If they put 2+2 together they would link the shortage of new build homes to poor planning processes and do something to make the planning approval process both easier and faster. Grrrrr.
